What do you know about tyres?

  • First vulcanized tire was invented and patented by Charles Goodyear in 1844.
  • Before rubber tires, the carts and wagons used an iron band on wooden circular structure.
  • In 1880, John Boyd Dunlop begins taping pneumatic tires to bicycle wheels.
  • André Michelin introduces pneumatic automobile tires in 1895.  They were used for racing vehicles.
  • Actually, tires manufacturers are developing non-inflated tires.  These tires will not be inflated, so the risk of puncture will disappear, enhancing safety.
  • ClubCar offer tires inflated with Nitrogen gas, and self-sealing tires for AWD vehicles.
